Proof-of-Skill Protocol

The Proof-of-Skill Protocol is a blockchain-based protocol that verifies and stores a candidate’s skills, identity, work history, and education—eliminating repetitive, time-consuming, and costly steps in the hiring process like resume screening, assignments, and background checks, allowing companies to hire smarter, faster.

Instead of applying for multiple jobs, candidates complete one real-world assignment, evaluated by experts known as Skill Validators, and companies pay to unlock expert-verified talent they can interview immediately.

All of this is showcased in the candidate’s SkillsCV—a dynamic, verifiable profile that displays their proven skills, work history, and educational background. Companies can shortlist candidates they’d like to interview basis their proof-of-skill and pay to interview candidates.

Earnings of the protocol are split among all stakeholders—candidates, skill validators, endorsers, and the protocol—unlike the current system where recruiters and job boards profiteer from candidates’ data and work while they get nothing.

The protocol uses fuzzy consensus algorithm to ensure the accuracy of both Proof-of-Skill credentials and the credibility of Skill Validators. Our approval-by-consensus algorithm allows all stakeholders—organizations, Skill Validators, and candidates—to collectively approve decisions on key matters like defining skills and levels, creating assignments, voting on rewards, adding new skills, and more.
